Good news. Netflix is finally allowing users to download content to watch offline. Meaning you really can take your favourite shows anywhere.
To help you make the most of it, we’ve collected 6 of our top picks for your daily commute/lunchtime/toilet break:
ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK
Ever wondered what life is like behind the bars of a ladies prison? Me neither. But turns out it’s an entertaining mix of dark humour, drama and complex characters – each with a story to tell. With 4 seasons available (and another on the way if Netflix and the show’s stars can settle their rumoured differences) there’s plenty for you to get through.
PARKS AND RECREATION
Parks and Rec arguably launched the careers of Chris Pratt, Amy Pohler et al. And a couple of episodes in – you’ll start to see why. It’s a definite grower and breakfast-loving-whisky-swilling-woodwork-crafting-ex-boffing alpha male Ron Swanson is a dead cert to become one of your all time favourites.
“Brent mused: why buy a book when you can join the library?” And now you can add Ricky Gervais’ greatest comic creation to your media collection at the touch of a button. Guilty.
HOUSE OF CARDS
Another Netflix own title – House of Cards takes you behind the heavy oak doors of The Whitehouse to follow U.S. Republican Frank Underwood’s underhanded rise to power. Its dark and twisted take on political drama is increasingly close to the bone.
One you might have missed first time around. Dexter is a darkly humorous tale of life as a crime scene investigator by day and serial killer by night. Each season dials up the tension as Dexter fights to keep his ‘dark passenger’ in-check and under-wraps.
If you haven’t dived into Breaking Bad – where have you been? Easily one of the best shows on Netflix. It even stands up to a repeat viewing, bitch!
